SEO Optimizer
Run SEO audits, configure meta tag templates, and improve your store's search engine visibility.
Overview
The SEO Optimizer module helps you identify and fix common SEO issues on your Shopify store. It includes automated audits, bulk meta tag editing, and structured data management.
Running an SEO Audit
- Go to SEO Optimizer > Audit
- Click Run Audit
- The audit scans all products, collections, and pages
What the Audit Checks
- Missing or duplicate meta titles and descriptions
- Missing alt text on images
- Broken internal links
- Missing structured data
- Page title length (too short or too long)
- Meta description length
Results are grouped by severity: critical, warning, and informational.
Meta Tag Templates
Instead of editing meta tags one by one, create templates that auto-generate tags based on product data.
- Go to SEO Optimizer > Templates
- Create a template using variables like
{product_title},{collection},{price} - Apply the template to selected products or all products
Example template:
Title: {product_title} | {collection} | Your Store Name
Description: Shop {product_title} from our {collection} collection. {short_description}. Free shipping over $50.
Structured Data
The module automatically generates JSON-LD structured data for:
- Products (name, price, availability, reviews)
- Organization (business info, logo, social profiles)
- Breadcrumbs (navigation path)
- FAQ pages (question and answer pairs)
Configure your organization details in SEO Optimizer > Settings > Structured Data.
Redirects
Manage URL redirects when you rename or remove products:
- Go to SEO Optimizer > Redirects
- Add redirects manually or let the module auto-detect broken URLs
- Choose between 301 (permanent) and 302 (temporary) redirects
